PuTTY and GSSAPI

by Aaron J. Angel (@aaronjangel) (3 minutes ago)

I had been using a version of PuTTY with GSSAPI extensions for quite a while and it seemed to work well. That is, until I tried to set up Kerberos on a new Debian VPS. That version of OpenSSH apparently has issues with the PuTTY client I had been using.

After much trouble, and trying multiple clients, many of which did not work with MIT Kerberos for Windows, I found Matthew Loar's PuTTY GSSAPI. Worked like a charm. Check it out.

by Aaron J. Angel (@aaronjangel) (17 days ago)

Transforming XHTML: Delivering Content to Old Browsers

by Aaron J. Angel (@aaronjangel) (29 days ago)

I had an idea, today, so I went with it. I hate the fact that Internet Explorer doesn't bother to parse content of type application/xhtml+xml. I had written a PHP script to transfer XHTML to HTML using XSLT but it needed some polishing. I'll walk you through configuring Apache/PHP to deliver appropriate content to old browsers without having to rewrite XHTML documents by hand.

Chicken and Couscous

by Aaron J. Angel (@aaronjangel) (about 1 month ago)

I've had this recipe on file for a while, but never bothered to publish it. Today, I decided to clean up some files on my laptop and ran across the recipe again, so I cleaned it up, too, for publishing. This makes the second recipe I've published and it, too, calls for beer.
